The Opportunity.

The Clinical Educator - Implants and Surgery will use their clinical expertise in the field of hearing Implants and Surgery in conjunction with their training and education skills to implement the Asia Pacific (APAC) Medical Affairs team strategy and to provide detailed, expert support for complex cases that have been challenging to solve at a country-level.

The Clinical Educator - Implants and Surgery will also provide expert-level input for the development and review of training materials for APAC for new and existing products and services. They will be required to identify learning needs and develop relevant and engaging clinical training programs and materials to grow competencies and skills as well as address learning needs related to various implant, surgical and product-related topics within the APAC region.

The Clinical Educator - Implants and Surgery is responsible for delivering clinical and surgical-related education to new and existing field-based staff. They will work closely with Asia Pacific clinical managers and marketing teams to provide appropriate learning for hearing health care professionals relevant to the implantable hearing solutions field throughout the APAC region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilise clinical expertise as the subject matter expert in hearing implants, patient management, counselling, surgery and troubleshooting to support APAC Field Clinical and Sales teams, professional partners, and Cochlear customers.
  • Provide high-quality clinical, theory and practical training and education to new and existing Cochlear staff and others working in hearing implant clinics in the APAC region.
  • In collaboration with the Education, Professional Engagement and Technical Services team, provide input into the development of implantable hearing solution surgical education program content to meet the diverse needs of the APAC region.
  • Participate in global launch teams to provide input on various product launches.
  • Participate in APAC New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, for various products to represent the clinical learning needs for a particular product or service.
  • Manage the documentation, website content and marketing required for Cochlear products and services.
  • Drive quality by supporting for the development of technical documentation across all product areas.
  • Collaborate cross-culturally across APAC countries to ensure market accuracy of documentation.
  • Manage the accuracy and availability of learning materials by working with the global learning solutions team.
  • Evolve current developmental initiatives by assessing the ongoing progress of clinical & sales team members.
  • Manage reports, conference content or other information that is pertinent to the Cochlear business.

About You.

To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health care field, preferably in a hearing related field (nursing, medical, biomedical)
  • Extensive training and coaching experience in surgery and field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the medical implant field, preferably with Cochlear products
  • Experience in the operating theatre and cadaver lab environment
  • Excellent presentation skills, persuasive, and engaging speaker
  • Professional and cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to travel in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Proficient in written and oral English language
  • Ability to understand technical and medical information.
  • Ability to adopt technical and medical information to suit a variety of audiences.

Ideal (Highly desirable):

  • Qualifications in adult education such as Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Decisiveness, initiative, and ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and in diverse cultural environments.
  • Ability to understand technical and medical information.
  • Comfortable with recommending action steps
