Reach further with us!

Working in the beautiful region of Karratha comes with a range of great experiences and challenges beyond what you might experience elsewhere.  You will gain career changing skills and experience and develop and nurture relationships with local communities while embracing the unexpected, as every day will be different.

headspace, Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, provides vital early intervention mental health services to young people with mild to moderate mental health issues affecting their wellbeing.

Our mission is to improve the mental and social wellbeing of young people by providing services that are welcoming, friendly, supportive and culturally safe.

As the Clinical Lead, alongside the Service Manager, you will oversee the ongoing design, delivery and improvement of evidenced-based care to support young people's wellbeing, including providing Clinical Leadership, consultation and expertise to headspace staff, consortium and private practitioners, as well as engaging with local communities and key stakeholders.

This is permanent, full-time role based in Karratha.

What you will bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary level qualification in relevant clinical discipline including clinical psychology, psychology, social work, mental health nursing, occupational therapy, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical skills in a range of mental health service settings
  • Experience in complex clinical triage, assessment and referral
  • Leadership skills and demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Highly developed cultural competency which will enable you to easily engage and build trust with people from diverse backgrounds, in particular Aboriginal communities.

The successful candidate must be registered with either Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and WA Drivers License.

Impact and benefits

Sharing your knowledge, skills and experience, you will make an impact to the lives of families and communities across the Pilbara.

In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity and best practice.

Also:-

  • $120,384 full time salary (includes 10% remote allowance)   + 11% superannuation.
  • Generous weekly rent subsidy of $300/week (T & C’s apply)
  • Generous tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually
  • Additional 1 weeks leave after 12 months service
  • 3 days additional leave between Christmas and New Year
