The Clinical Nurse/Midwife assists the efficient management and effective coordination of the nursing automated systems, including Nurse Rostering System, Human Resource Management Systems, Nursing Clinical Information Systems and other related systems. Assists with the management responsibilities of the Nursing Information Systems by maintaining software databases. Provides nursing and workforce management information to support operational and strategic planning. Participates in the ongoing development of nursing care delivery through managing and supporting clinical Information Systems that facilitate and support nursing. Facilitates management and clinical reporting. The Clinical Nurse/Midwife is accountable for own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.
CALHN Nursing Information Systems (NIS) Clinical Nurse are engaged in a health informatics role that provides rostering support and education to ensure appropriate use of our valuable nurse resource to assist with meeting the requirements of an areas/units/wards staffing methodology and budget parameters to optimise safe delivery of patient care outcomes. Report generation provides an essential tool for nursing staff/leadership to consolidate workforce performance and to facilitate future planning. Portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.
Qualifications
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
