The role:
The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator is to facilitate and support the development of the Statewide Mental Health nursing workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs. This will be facilitated over Millbrook Rise Centre and Tolosa Street facilities.
This role will suit candidates with experience in Mental Health Nursing who are committed to extending the knowledge and skills of nurses and are able to lend their creativity and expertise to lead and inspire others to realise excellent patient outcomes. Candidates must be committed to professional values that contribute to positive, healthy work environments.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop, plan, implement and evaluate nursing education programs that reflect the assessed needs of the nursing workforce and are linked to patient and professional outcomes in the clinical practice setting.
- Demonstrates high level clinical knowledge, skills and utilises expertise in the area of clinical speciality to develop and apply education programs that focus on theory to clinical practice translation.
- Develops, through a need analysis process, a continuing nursing education plan that is informed by evidence, nursing management, direct care nurses and broader interdisciplinary teams.
- Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary clinical leadership team.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
- Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications around clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
