The role:
The Clinical Nurse Educator - Palliative Care (CNE) operates as part of a multidisciplinary team developing education strategies for Palliative Care services to patients, their families, and carers across the respective region of Tasmania. The CNE is responsible for:
- Facilitating and supporting the development of team members by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programs in Palliative Care.
- Providing professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessment and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people with a life limiting illness.
- Contributing to learning and development programs for other health disciplines and volunteers.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
Current Driver's Licence.

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

Holds or is working towards relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in specialised Palliative Care management with experience working in the community setting.
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
