About The Role
An opportunity for an experienced registered nurse exists with a commitment to clinical education and professional development, to provide mandatory and relevant clinical education to student nurses, new graduates and theatre staff. You will be working with a supportive management team and great staff.
This is hands on role requiring an exceptional candidate that can not only deliver formal training but also lead, coach, and inspire others through practical on the job training working alongside our team of clinical employees.
You will also be required to assist with education tasks related to Theatre such as competency testing and auditing, involvement in quality improvement projects and developing and supporting learning pathways.
In addition, you will ensure key unit objectives are achieved whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

The Clinical Nurse Educator liases with the Perioperative Service Manager, Nurse Unit Manager and Nurse Educators to identify training requirements for the Perioperative Environment.
Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are of critical importance for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying perioperative staff education/training needs through training needs analyses, liaising with the Director of Clinical Services, Clinical Manager, WHS Co-ordinator regarding needs of perioperative personnel.
- Providing appropriate knowledge and support to preceptors of both graduate and undergraduate nurses.
- Planning, implementing and evaluating the staff development program for perioperative staff of the Hospital. Program includes internal and external training, education sessions, in-service lectures.
- Coordinating the Graduate Program including orientation to the hospital, placements and provision of support
- Maintaining records associated with staff development programs
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 5 years Clinical Perioperative Experience
- Prior demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and developing others
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Demonstrated experience working towards and achieving team KPI's
- Commitment and positive attitude towards education and professional development
- Proven presentation and teaching skills in individual, small and large group settings
