Gulf Civil are a reputable Civil Contractor with a focus on delivering civil infrastructure, roadworks, bridgeworks, seawalls and Earthworks projects throughout Queensland.
With continuous growth over the last 5 years, we are seeking a dynamic and adaptable individual with strong commercial experience to drive the delivery of our projects while supporting the strategic direction of the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects up to the value of $15m and leadership of the operations team based at our North Lakes, Brisbane office.
Experience in the delivery of DTMR Road and Bridge Projects is highly desirable for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing construction projects from tender through to Practical Completion
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate the team to maximise performance and engagement
- Maintain and develop meaningful and solutions focused relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety, health and environmental standards
- Ensuring KPI’s for Quality, Client Satisfaction and Financial budgets are met
- Ensuring the technical aspects of project delivery are resourced and completed.
- Continuously monitor project performance and implement improvements
About You
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- At least 10 years' experience as an Operations Manager or currently at General Manager level
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the civil construction or similar industry
- Forward thinking people leader who is able to adapt in a somewhat reactive environment
- Strong background in project management including successful delivery of projects varying in size and complexity
- An understanding of logistical planning, resourcing and management of remote projects
- Problem solving skills – must be able to identify and resolve issues that arise during the construction process, such as unforeseen delays, cost overruns or safety concerns
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and team members
