About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Educator will deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Nurse managers, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants to support Excellence, clinical best practice, care and optimise clinical outcomes across the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and John Hunter Hospital. This role provides a broad range of day to day education support activities to nurses within the ICU.

Where you'll be working:
Are you a compassionate and dedicated nurse with extensive experience in Intensive Care (ICU) and a passion for education?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team at John Hunter Intensive Care Unit as a Clinical Nurse Educator!

  • Our 29-bed ICU is rapidly expanding and offers a wide range of speciality services, including Trauma, Neurology, Neurosurgery, ENT, General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Located within 10km of Newcastle's Prestigious Coastline and just a short drive to the Hunter Valley Wine Country, JHH PICU will provide a rewarding career and a great lifestyle.
  • You will join a friendly, skilled, flexible, culturally diverse and compassionate workforce and will be supported in this role by our dedicated and multi-skilled team. You will be supported with an individualised orientation program, and we have a team of educators and staff that support and assist with providing learning opportunities for your ongoing development in the role.

Requirements and additional information:
  • Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration.
  • Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.
