This is for a Fixed Term, Full Time or Part Time appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Casual appointments may also be considered.

 An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Mental Health & CADS team at Geraldton Health Campus – Midwest.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Demonstrated workplace leadership relevant to community mental health practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of mental illness, assessment of complex presentations and providing evidence-based interventions for people with mental health or related disorders.

Position Profile:

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, establish and maintain high quality standards of client care by leadership, delivery of care and role modelling in accordance with policies and procedures. Act as a clinical resource to staff across the service. Provide expert clinical assessment, screening, follow-up and care as required.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region of Western Australia covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison, is recognised for its unique natural environment and is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
