About the Role
The Sexual HealthClinical Nurse Specialist will be a valued member of the Sexual Health Service at Albury Community Health and will be respoonsible for the provision of direct clinical services, community education, health promotion and support services for groups or individuals in the albury and surrounding community at particular risk of Sexually Trasmitted Infections (STI's), HIV infection and other Blood Borne Viruses (BBV).
The Sexual HealthClinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for the provision of patient centred, evidence based nursing care and is expected to embrace practice development principles in the delivery of that care. Care will be provided in a quality framework and promote positive sexual Health outcomes. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team using a contemporary practice model.
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity:
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with demonstrated ability to meet the National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse and Australiasian Sexual Health and HIV Nurses Association (ASHHNA) Competency Standards domain.
- Post Graduate qualification in the field of Sexual Health, with at least 3 years full time recent experience working within the clinical area with demonstrated competencies in Sexual Health, or a combination of both study and work experience.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and understanding of current issues related to the transmission and prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) and Blood Borne Viruses (BBV's) including viral hepatitis and harm minimisation principles.
- Demonstrated ability to carry our an extended role and to exercise extended autonomy of decision making capabilities and leadership in the development of nursing speciality clinical practice and service delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing care of people lilving with HIV within a community setting.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, evidence based practice and an understanding of recent contemporary changes in Sexual Health, BBV and HIV.
- Achievement or commitment to achieving NSW Austhorisation as a Nurse Immuniser within 12 months of commencement.
- Evidence of current Class C drivers licence and an ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.

Employment Type: This is a Fixed Term, Part Time (16 hrs per week) opportunity. Potential to work up to 32 hours per week during this time.
