About the Role
The Fertility Clinical Nurse Specialist will act as Team Leader and support the Nurse Manager in the coordination of patient care and management of fertility nursing and administrative team. This role will ensure safe, efficient and effective treatment for our patients.
This role would suit an experienced Fertility Nurse or Midwife who is looking to step into more of a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical guidance and advice to nursing team, including day to day coordination of operational workload allocation and rostering as appropriate.
- Contribute subject matter expertise and provide clinical input to enhance patient outcomes and support to nursing team.
- Contribute to training of new staff to appropriate levels of expertise to agreed timeframe utilising team resources.
- Work with the Nurse Manager to provide support to clinicians in providing wholistic care.
- Follow up patient feedback and complaints and report as appropriate.
- Ensure standard of care is delivered in accordance with patient advocacy standards, open disclosure and privacy policies.
- Identify process and protocol improvements and be proactive in finding solutions to problems.
- Provide input into clinic and company projects as required and ensure ongoing site engagement in innovation and transformation.
- Demonstrate sound leadership capabilities.
- Ensure staff skill and competence levels are continually reviewed and developed with performance management with the support of the Nurse Manager.
Essential requirements
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
- Experience in Fertility Nursing and 4 years' minimum experience as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
- Experience in managing or assisting the management of a team (desirable)
- Commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and engage staff
- Conflict management skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Demonstrated competency in IT and Software packages
