About the role:
The primary purpose of the Clinical Operations Manager is to provide leadership to the clinical team ensuring successful outcomes for the co-managed patient. This management role requires someone who is organised with sound business management skills.
The role may include regular travel and is supported by administrative staff and a multi-disciplinary team including General Practitioner and Geriatrician.
Reporting to the Executive GM of Clinical Services, the role will maintain a consistent oversight of the nursing team, supporting and allowing them to reach their KPI's. The right person for this position may not have a clinical background as we want to support our teams from a managerial perspective.
Together with the Executive General Manager of Clinical Services, the role will lead governance; service delivery; innovation, and change management within Access Aged Care, primarily across our nursing team. A strong focus on the delivery of KPIs and service improvement is key to the success of this role. We have a workforce of remote nurses, and this presents a unique challenge to manage and guide this team, with the support of local, and regional managers.
Responsibilities:
- Holistic management of the remote nursing team
- Communicate with families/NOK as needed.
- Participating in education sessions as directed by Access Aged Care
- Oversight of the clinical management teams.
- Setting targets for coordination of clinical care in conjunction with the clinical team.
- Ensuring scheduled reviews are coordinated and completed management of Complex Medical Assessments
- Ensuring that nurses are completing specialist rounds.
- Tracking nurse attendance for rounds
- Address process improvements and support homes with any feedback
- Management of initial complaints – clinical related / nurses in regions can bring concerns to the Nurse Regional Manager for escalation.
- Monitor new staff education and training post-induction.
- Monitoring of Nurses' Ongoing Performance
- Performance reviews of nurses in regions
- Involvement in nursing home allocations with the Admin team
- Work with the Business Development manager and Nursing Regional Managers to continue the growth of the regions.
- Keeping abreast of any new home developments or changes in the number of beds under care in residential aged care facilities in the region
- Partner Acquisition and Patient Acquisition
About you – your skills and experience:
- Experience leading teams (remote workforce valuable)
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Knowledge in aged care clinical practice preferred.
- Previous experience in consumer-facing role
- Demonstrable experience in relationship management
- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong verbal, written, presentation and effective listening skills
