Position: Clinical Operations Manager
Location: Scoresby, Vic, Eastern Suburbs with the option to WFH two days a week
Role Overview:
Reporting to the executive team, The Clinical Operations Manager, Supported Independent Living (SIL) is responsible for a small team of service delivery managers who work to support our client group. The Clinical Operations Manager will lead the team to deliver clinical excellence throughout the client portfolio. Providing clinical supervision to both New and Existing customers, the Clinical Operations Manager will lead the organization in delivering high quality supports to participants who choose to partner with us.
With a clinical lens, this newly created role is focused on optimizing the clinical capability throughout the organization in order for participants to continue to achieve their NDIS participants' goals. Ensuring a supportive and supervised environment for our disability support workers, team leaders, and service delivery managers to maintain compliance with NDIS guidelines and restrictive practices legislation. The Clinical Operations Manager will also play a vital role in developing clinical frameworks for internal staff members who support clinical care clients including care initiatives, clinical supervision, reporting / reviewing patterns in behaviors or care requirements and reviewing behavior support plans. As a senior member of the team, the Clinical operations Manager will work closely with the wider organization to provide clinical service advice and council on care related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Achieve and optimize the Clinical Operations of SIL houses to meet NDIS participant needs by identifying areas to improve the collation of information and positive systemic change.
- Ensure the timely delivery of quality and safe client services.
- Develop and implement clinically driven operational plans to improve efficiency and performance.
- Identify areas of improvement and implement change initiatives.
- Provide clinical oversight of NDIS participants' care, including regular assessment and monitoring of their well-being and progress.
- Ensure that any use and reporting of restrictive practices is in compliance with NDIS guidelines and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of State legislation and reporting requirements for Restrictive Practices under the NDIS framework and report and document instances of restrictive practices appropriately, ensuring full transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Nursing Qualification and Expertise:
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification to support clinical oversight and ensure the well-being of NDIS participants.
- Apply nursing knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care and support to individuals with disabilities.
- Ensure that medical needs are addressed and coordinated effectively within the support plans.
Team Management:
- Lead and coach a small team of service delivery managers with regular support and supervision sessions.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure team members are aligned with the organization's mission and values.
- Ongoing review of Service Delivery Managers Case load and capacity to integrate new clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
As a Clinical Operations Manager, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in the Disability sector and related fields
- Registered Nurse (RN) and other relevant clinical qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience of 7-10 years in disability, or community care.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the NDIS, disability sector, current reforms, relevant legislation, funding, and policy protocols, standards, and processes.
- Experience in maintaining compliance against the NDIS practices standards for audit purposes and audit experience
- Experience in managing diverse teams and a track record of demonstrated leadership in managing an operational team in the disability sector to deliver service excellence.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Proof of the right to work in Australia.
NDIS worker's screening check.
National Police Check.
Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
