About the Role:
Available are a combination of fixed term and ongoing part time Clinical Support Nurse positions within the Butterfly NICU Nursing Education team
In this role you will work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Managers to provide facilitated learning and leadership at the unit level to develop high quality clinical care skills with staff. Working alongside other members of the Nursing Education team you'll play a key role in the development and acquisition of skills and knowledge-based competence and confidence across a wide variety of learners. In addition, you will contribute to both local and wider hospital based education programs, such as the Graduate, Post Graduate and Transition to NICU Programs.
What you'll achieve:
- Support the delivery of excellence in neonatal nursing care by working alongside new & existing staff to develop their skills, knowledge, abilities, and attributes providing direct Clinical Support
- Contribute to RCH nursing patient care protocols
- Coordinate, develop, and provide education for the ward and hospital wide in-service sessions, and professional development sessions and days
- Contribute to nursing & patient care protocols and guidelines
- Collaborate with NUMs and staff to identify the education needs of the unit and develop a unit-based education plan
Your skills and experience:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of adult learning and learning management systems
- Extensive acute paediatric clinical experience
- Relevant postgraduate certificate/diploma in Nursing, Education, Paediatrics or equivalent
- Small or large group teaching experience
- Proficient in the use of the Electronic Medical Record
