We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Education team. The role focuses on providing nursing staff with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver advanced assessment and management of patients care Unit setting.
The role also assists nursing staff undertaking approved postgraduate study in translating the theoretical knowledge provided by tertiary partners to the clinical setting.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will support the professional development of our nursing staff, particularly in managing patients with cognitive impairment and dementia. You will play a key role in translating theoretical knowledge into practical skills through point-of-care education.
You will support and enhance the professional development of nursing staff, ensuring that they can provide safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care in alignment with the NSQHS Standards for Comprehensive Care in the areas of falls management, pressure injury and delirium.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership: Collaborate with the education team, Nurse Managers, and clinical nursing staff to identify and address quality, safety, and clinical education issues.
Point-of-Care Education: Provide on-the-spot educational support and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle complex health conditions, including cognitive impairments.
Evidence-Based Practice: Ensure all educational content reflects current evidence-based practices, adhering to Cabrini guidelines, protocols, policies, and NSQHS standards.
Clinical Support: Assist staff in implementing effective care and management strategies for patients with complex cognitive impairments, ensuring appropriate responses to clinical deterioration.
Hospital-Wide Education: Contribute to broader education programs within your area of expertise, enhancing the overall quality of care provided at Cabrini Health.
About you
Along with your commitment to quality patient care and outcomes, you will have the following:
Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with NMBA/AHPRA.
Recent demonstrated clinical experience in both dementia care and acute specialty.
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) (or willingness to work toward).
Certificate IV in Dementia Practice or equivalent (preferred).
Recent demonstrated clinical experience in both dementia care and acute specialty.
Facilitation of clinical learning and the provision of performance feedback and remediation processes.
Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Familiarity with data collection and management processes.
