About the Role
The Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) works as part of the Education team, with designated areas across clinical services, and supporting other CSNs as required. The role of Clinical Support Nurse provides support to Nurses who are supervising undergraduate students, those less experienced and newly appointed staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the orientation of undergraduate, graduate and newly appointed nurses.
- Provide Clinical Support to undergraduate, graduate and newly appointed and less experienced/novice nurses, prioritising support to cohort and area with greatest development needs
- Conduct assessments of undergraduate students as required
- Monitoring the performance of the Educators in their support of new staff and provides coaching and constructive feedback
- Providing support in clinical areas as directed during times of escalation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will
- hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with a post graduate qualification in your relevant specialty.
- Completion of Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or willingness to complete within 12 months) required
- Have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and/or minimum of 5 years’ experience in the relevant area of specialty
- Extensive knowledge of Clinical Support models
- High level of self confidence
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Be available to work rostered shifts including weekends with possibility of night duty dependent on department needs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
