An exciting opportunity exists to join the Medical Assessment Unit at Wollongong Hospital as a Clinical Support Officer on a permanent full-time basis.
COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

What you'll be doing
The CSO is expected to provide timely and accurate administrative/ transactional services for members of the health care team, on their designated ward(s)/unit(s) under the direction of the N/MUM. The CSO works under broad supervision however is required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remain the responsibility of the N/MUM.

Selection Criteria
- Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate lll in Health Administration or equivalent.
- Excellent communications skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated time management & conflict resolution skills.
- Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in high pressure, high volume work environment.
