How the role works from a day to day perspective
As an online role, you can perform this role from any location. While we expect you to work 30 hours a week, we're open to discussing how to achieve those hours in a flexible manner for things like school pickups.
You will work very closely with the Practice Manager of your virtual hub, and the 14 therapists within the hub, to foster quality service delivery within the hub and drive client and financial targets on a monthly basis. You'll also work closely with senior management including two of Umbo's founders.

The purpose of this position is to provide support for our clinicians to deliver the highest quality speech and occupational therapy services to clients in rural and regional Australia. This position will oversee an online therapy hub, consisting of clinicians (speech and occupational therapists) and will work in a dual management role of the hub with a Practice Manager. The role will focus on the management of innovative service delivery, direct line management of clinicians, NDIS compliance, hustling to ensure new therapists are allocated as many clients as possible before they start and cultivating a strong and connected culture within the hub. This role is a minimum of 30 hours per week.
This position will work closely with the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) who has broad oversight of the clinical services branch of Umbo and will provide mentoring and support to the Team Leaders. The position will also work alongside the hub Practice Manager and they will be jointly responsible for the key performance deliverables for their hub, which they will report to the CSM on a regular basis.
As an online/Work from home role, you can perform this role from any location across Australia, not just the location advertised on Seek.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Allied Health Professional, for example, physiotherapist, dietician, psychologist, speech or occupational therapist
- Minimum 18 months experience in a senior clinical management role
Selection Criteria
- An ability to effectively manage a remote team
- A passion and understanding of person-centred, evidence-based practice
- A commitment to personal and professional quality improvement and clinical governance
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A desire to help deliver services to rural and regional Australia
- Experience working within a private practice or equivalent organisation
Desirable
- Understanding of NDIS compliance requirements
- Experience working with databases and budgets
