We are looking for experienced Disability Support Team Leaders who have experience supporting people with complex clinical (high needs), mental health conditions, physical disabilities and challenging behaviors. This role reports to an Area Supervisor, who supports and trains you.
In this role you will be expected to do 1 day per week administration and the remainder will be focused on direct care of our participants and supervision of the Disability Support Workers.
In this role you will Support the Area Supervisor to ensure we deliver high quality of care and enable participants to achieve their goals by:
- Supervise and support team members, escalating any concerns to the Area Supervisor.
- Ensure the environment is one in which team members can perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Have strong clinical knowledge to support complex disability in both children & adults
- Monitor on-site roster changes such as staff swaps liaising with Roster Coordinator to resolve any urgent changes.
- Assist Area Supervisors to build team rosters 8 -12 weeks in advance.
- Ensure that the Client care plans meet the needs of the client and are being followed by all support workers – this includes EMP, MMP, BSP and other support plans.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders of the participant.
- Ensure houses operate in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policy and procedures.
- Ensure high quality record keeping and completeness of internal documents at the House.
- Complete Mandatory reporting.
- In home care assisting and enabling participants with daily tasks inc. meal preparation, personal care and administering medication.
- Minimum 1 plus years of experience in supervising or leading a team of disability support workers.
- Qualifications in nursing and related courses required.
- Experience across a range of disabilities, including challenging behaviors, Mental Health, and Autism.
- Experience in working across multiple group homes or SIL houses.
- Minimum Certificate III Disability or similar/higher.
- Good communication skills.
- Empathy for the issues facing people with a disability.
- Strong belief in the principles of Person Centred Practices.
- Highly organised and proactive.
- NSW Driver’s License (or similar) plus own car is desirable.
