Role Purpose:     

TheCloud OperationsSystems Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Cloud Operations team for the eMite SaaS Solution hosted in our cloud environments. 
 Responsibilities:
  • To work with customers on eMite cloud deployment solutions and define architectures for eMite SaaS solutions. 
  • Configure, patch, and deploy customer systems in cloud systems. 
  • Develop and automate deployment scripts for each cloud platform. 
  • Manage and monitor systems and respond to problems using in-house monitoring and cloud management tools.   
  • Manage cloud costs and come up with solutions to reduce costs where possible. 
  • Liaise with eMite development and consulting teams with application updates, fixes, and timings. 
  • Manage day-to-day security and user access to cloud systems. 
  • Respond to pen testing outcomes and work with security teams on any remediation activities. 
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level IT Support. 
  • Coordinate with customers, external vendors, and internal dev/QA teams to debug and troubleshoot service issues/outages.
  • Escalates issues with the internal development team and/or external vendors to minimize the impact of system availability on business continuity. 
  • Create and improve tools and processes for quicker incident detection and resolution. 
  • Develop scripts, and jobs with automation tools to streamline common operation processes and procedures.
  • Design and Integrate Oracle (OCI)/AWS-based solutions to improve customer applications. 
  • Manage day-to-day Oracle (OCI)/AWS Operation tasks (i.e. windows security patching, server upgrades). 
  • The opportunity to experience working with a global service running on an AWS-based infrastructure. 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, key people leaders (internal and external), and stakeholders using effective communication strategies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice and skill set.
  • Participate in Performance Reviews, Training Via KnowBE4 Application, Career Development, and Learning & Development as required as part of the Project Manager role. 
  • You are both an individual contributor as well as a team member, do right by both. 
  • Other duties and activities as directed by the Cloud Operations Manager and/or CISO.
     

Requirements:

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the IT industry, preferably in operations. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge/experience of Oracle (OCI) and/or AWS Core services (EC2, Route53, RDS, S3, etc.) and OCI/AWS CLI tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions such as block storage, snapshot, AMI, etc. 
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes environments. 
  • Desired experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Capable of creating Linux shell, and Windows PowerShell scripts. 
  • Experience with multi-tier client-server infrastructure and technologies: 
  • Linux, Windows OS Systems (Ubuntu, Centos/RHEL, Windows 2016 onwards) 
  • Microsoft IIS 8.5 and above 
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 onwards 
  • Elasticsearch 7.9 and/or OpenSearch 1. x onwards
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause isolation skills, creative problem-solving approach, 
    and strong analytical skills. 
  • Familiarity with tools and practices of the trade such as case management, knowledge base, defect & escalation management. 
  • Must have a high command of verbal and written English communication skills. 
  • Have a security mindset to help ensure security compliance with our environment. 
  • Experience with Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform other automation tools.

  • AWS Certified Sysops Administrator (Associate)   
     

Desired Cloud Certifications: 
 

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate)   
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, certified architect associate 
  • Azure fundamentals
