Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club is situated on the magnificent Surf Coast, 20 minutes from Geelong and servicing the local communities of Jan Juc & Torquay.

Jan Juc SLSC has proudly patrolled the Jan Juc beach since 1963 and is a volunteer, family-oriented club offering Life Saving Services, Nippers Surf Education and Surf Sports Program, Senior Surf Sports Competition and Training to the local community.

JJSLSC are seeking a part-time Club Administrator / Bookkeeper (approx. 12-15 hours per week) to join the team with flexibility on the hours (casual or part-time) for the right candidate.

About the Role

Reporting to the Club President key responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day administration of the club’s operation including office administration, answering phones, email communication, filing, printing, coordinating tasks, calendar management and other clerical tasks
  • Respond to membership enquiries, maintain membership database, coordinate membership renewals and run membership reports
  • Assist with promotion of the club and club activities on social media (FB/Instagram)
  • Coordinating the maintenance and updating the club website
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the club calendar including clubhouse bookings
  • Collection of mail from post box and distributing as required
  • Coordinating the production and circulation of regular e-newsletters
  • Compile the annual report
  • Assist in producing club promotional material
  • Occasional functions coordination support including site tours
  • Backup Bookkeeping and accounts assistance
  • General data entry using Xero

Remuneration will be commensurate with the relevant award and your qualifications, skills and experience.

To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent communicator with superb interpersonal skills allowing you to communicate effectively with a variety of people. You take great satisfaction in providing exceptional, personalised assistance to both your colleagues and customers alike.

You are extremely responsible and organised with excellent time management skills and, can adapt to changing priorities whilst maintaining a level high of attention to detail and customer service.

Advanced computer skills and proficiency in all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite are essential. Previous administration experience is essential and candidates with qualifications in Bookkeeping and knowledge of Xero will be highly regarded.

The Musts

  • Previous experience in an office administration / bookkeeping role
  • Experience with digital communications across website, email and social media desirable
  • Experience with Xero will be highly regarded
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Card
  • Experience in surf lifesaving or sports administration will be highly regarded
  • Experience with Surfguard membership database highly desirable
