The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and self-motivated bookkeeper to join our team. This position offers the potential for both part-time and full-time hours, starting with approximately 25 hours per week, increasing up to 38 hours during peak times such as the end of the month and EOFY. The ideal candidate will be available to work full hours during peak periods, particularly mid-June to late August.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Accurate data entry, bank and account reconciliations.
- Payroll: Processing payroll for multiple clients.
- Accounts: Handling Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Compliance: ATO lodgements and EOFY preparation.
- Client Management: Primary contact for assigned clients, building and fostering supportive relationships.
- General Admin: Workflow management and office duties.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping legislation with practical experience using Xero and MYOB, including payroll.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office, with excellent time management, communication (oral and written), and organisational abilities.
- Passion: A genuine passion for bookkeeping and a desire to be the best in your field.
- Team Player: Enjoys working in a cohesive and friendly team and can work well both in a team and independently.
- Client Service: Desire to provide professional interpersonal service to our clients, with a focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Autonomy: Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks independently, especially when working from home.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy, efficiency, and a commitment to providing high-quality work with the ability to think logically.
Work Environment:
You will start with in-office training to learn our systems and procedures. Once your skills are proven, you will have the opportunity to work from home for up to 40% - 50% of your time, while maintaining essential in-office collaboration two to three days a week (depending on contracted hours), mostly likely on Mondays and Wednesdays/Thursdays or as otherwise agreed.
Additional Hours:
During our team member’s maternity leave (August to November), additional hours up to full-time may be required.
