Reporting to the Production Manager, the key objective of the position of the CNC Machinist is to produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards. The CNC Machinist will maintain equipment and supplies, helping the innovation and growth of Maspro by securing greater market share in the mining industry. The focus of this position is the efficient machining of parts to Maspro's high standard.
The following objectives are performed daily and demonstrate the core responsibilities of the position.
Producing high quality parts machined in accordance with manufacturing drawings, job sheets, materials, specifications and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Planning efficient machining operations and stable work holding methods, machining parts in a safe and resourceful manner.
Scheduling jobs to make sure tooling available when needed including inserts, cutters and work holding devices / jigs.
Maintaining machines in good working order with regular services and keeping machines clean and tidy and avoiding crashes.
Operating machinery in accordance with Maspro policies.
Using correct material for job as per job sheet.
Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
