CNC Fitter Machinist
Well established CNC Engineering Company, based in St Marys, Sydney specialising in precision machining is looking for take on a CNC Machinist.
The facility offers excellent long term employment for team players who are interested in building a career path supplying to a stable industry.
Duties for this position will include the following:
- Setting and operating 3 axis lathe, 4 axis and 5 axis CNC Machining centres.
- Planning, programming and testing of products
- Operating different types of machinery on the shop floor
- Multitasking and producing components to a high quality / standard
- Be conversant in Okuma and Fanuc series control languages with at least 3 years’ experience.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Be prompt, reliable, efficient & ability to work effectively with a team and work unsupervised
- Have a professional attitude and a sound work ethic.
- Adhering to quality control standards and ensuring that machined components meet specifications.
- Operating CNC machines with precision and monitoring their performance throughout the production process.
- Setting up the next machining operation by installing fixtures, tools, and programming sequences.
- Thinking on your feet.
- Fork Lift use (not mandatory)
- Maintaining a safe working environment.
Our ideal candidate for this role MUST have the following:
- Must be trade qualified and have 3-5 years’ experience with CNC Lathe / VMC programming and machining.
- Preferred qualifications include prior experience in a CNC machining workshop.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to the instructions.
- Ability to use measuring instruments.
- Basic CAD and similar programs.
- Self-motivation and attention to detail.
- Individual looking for long-term full-time employment.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- A Good Level Of Safety-Consciousness.
- A proactive and flexible approach to fluctuating workloads.
- Ability to work under limited supervision for routine situations.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to provide assistance and support to fellow employees.
- Ideally live local to western Sydney.
- Driver’s license or reliable mode of transport to work.
- The successful candidate must be a Permanent Australian Resident.
