THE POSITION – CNC Machinist
The successful individual shall be primarily responsible for the DOOSAN Puma-V8300 dual-process CNC machine. Responsible for the entire process from raw to finished product. You may also operate other CNC machines as required in a secondary capacity, so flexibility and adaptability are vital aspects of the role.
Duties Include:
- Set up, operate and maintain CNC machines
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and drawings
- Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired product specifications
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
- Work collaboratively with team members to optimise production processes and achieve production targets
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
ABOUT YOU - Position Requirements
Ideally, the successful candidate would be someone who:
Essential
- Quality-focused work ethic, flexible work style and reliable work output
- Trade-qualified machinist,
- Minimum 3 years experience with Fanuc controllers.
- Experience with programming, setting, and machining on both CNC vertical and horizontal lathes.
- Must be able to work autonomously, with high levels of initiative,
- Experience and ability to correctly read and understand engineering drawings
- Proficient in the use and calibration of various measuring equipment
- Ability to run more than one machine simultaneously
Desirable, but not Essential
- Candidates with demonstrated experience with the DOOSAN will be given preference
- The setting and operation of manual machines
- Experience machining to strict tolerances would be preferred
- Experience with creating technical drawings will be highly regarded
