THE POSITION – CNC Machinist

The successful individual shall be primarily responsible for the DOOSAN Puma-V8300 dual-process CNC machine. Responsible for the entire process from raw to finished product. You may also operate other CNC machines as required in a secondary capacity, so flexibility and adaptability are vital aspects of the role.

Duties Include:

1. Set up, operate and maintain CNC machines
2. Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and drawings
3. Adjust machine settings to achieve the desired product specifications
4. Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
5. Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
6. Work collaboratively with team members to optimise production processes and achieve production targets
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment

ABOUT YOU - Position Requirements

Ideally, the successful candidate would be someone who:

Essential

1. Quality-focused work ethic, flexible work style and reliable work output
2. Trade-qualified machinist,
3. Minimum 3 years experience with Fanuc controllers.
4. Experience with programming, setting, and machining on both CNC vertical and horizontal lathes.
5. Must be able to work autonomously, with high levels of initiative,
6. Experience and ability to correctly read and understand engineering drawings
7. Proficient in the use and calibration of various measuring equipment
8. Ability to run more than one machine simultaneously

Desirable, but not Essential

1. Candidates with demonstrated experience with the DOOSAN will be given preference
2. The setting and operation of manual machines
3. Experience machining to strict tolerances would be preferred 
4. Experience with creating technical drawings will be highly regarded
