SalaryAbout the business and the role Billroy Manufacturing and Engineering (BME) is a family owned and operated manufacturing business providing a wide range of products & services for clients across a diverse range of industries. Our workshop includes modern fabrication equipment, conventional machine tools & CNC machines. We're looking for a motivated CNC Machinist that takes pride in their work to help increase our machining capacity due to increasing work load.
Job tasks and responsibilities • - Programming, setting and operating CNC vertical mills and lathes for the manufacture of relatively small, low quantity steel components.
• - Perform quality checks on finished components.
• - Routine maintenance of machines and calibration of measuring equipment.
• - Cutting / preparing materials prior to machining.
• - Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
• - Follow Safe Work Instructions and comply with safe work practices.
Skills and experience
• - Must have demonstrated experience in CNC milling and turning (experience with on-machine conversational programming preferred).
• - Must be skilled in the use of metal cutting tools and measuring instruments.
• - Must have a high level of attention to detail.
• - Must be able to interpret and understand drawings.
• - Must be able to openly communicate, follow procedures and work within a small highly motivated team.
• - Relevant trade qualification preferred.
• - Conventional turning and milling experience preferred.
• - Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred.
• - Forklift licence preferred.
• - Car licence preferred.
• - Willingness to learn new skills, share knowledge and operate new machinery.
