As we continue to grow,we are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team andcontribute to the ongoing success of our Rail Productsdivision.
The CNC Programmer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamlessoperation of machine tools within the Rail Products department atMolycop. This position is responsible for developing andmaintaining machining programs that determine the toolpath andmachining sequence for computer-controlled lathes and machiningcenters.
About the role
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop and maintain machining programs to facilitate the accurate and timely manufacture of customer products.
- Ensure compliance with departmental standards and adhere to Australian Standards or company-specific standards.
- Update CAD model formats in line with software improvements.
- Ensure all necessary programs, including wheels, axles, and gauges, are prepared in line with planning schedules and conform to quality management system requirements.
- Maintain a method of identifying risks within the production schedule.
- Contribute to the Quality Assurance culture through change management processes and major improvement projects.
- Maintain resources for the efficient storage of electronic manufacturing files.
- Manage a database of machine tools within the manufacturing capability of the Rail plant.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives as part of the department's strategic focus.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in machine tool programming and champion relevant improvements.
- Uphold safe systems of work and Codes of Practice, providing leadership around safety in daily interactions.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and actively participate in the change management process.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Relevant Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Metallurgy, TQC, etc.
- Basic understanding of ISO Standard CNC codes and drawing geometric tolerances.
- Excellent machining, CAD and programming skills with Trade certificate or better.
- Manufacturing industry exposure with a machining and/or drafting background.
