Merlo Coffee began 30 years ago with a simple philosophy – freshly roasted coffee served by people who are passionate about coffee.
Today, Merlo is proud to be one of Australia’s leading independently owned and operated Coffee Roasters, who supply the public, our own Merlo Coffee stores and 1,700 cafes and restaurants with freshly roasted coffee around the country every day.
About the role
Reporting to the Head Roaster you will be educated in the art of coffee roasting, techniques, and machinery. You will be provided the knowledge of all things coffee, from the plant to cup, as well as roasting degrees, flavour notes and participate in the cupping process to develop your palate. As a Merlo Coffee Roaster, your role is critical to the quality and consistency of our product and the integrity of the Merlo Brand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Roasting of Merlo blends and single origin beans.
- Quality control of both green and roasted beans.
- Process and pack coffee orders.
- Operation and maintenance of machinery.
- Explain the roaster and roasting process to customers and staff
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring the integrity of the product and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- General administration such as stocktake and invoicing.
