The Commercial Analyst at Rex Software is instrumental in shaping our financial strategy, driving our financial planning, and providing insights that will influence key business decisions. As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of our organisation, working closely with various teams to align financial management with our overall business objectives. Your expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning will be key to supporting our company's growth and success.
 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
• Provide financial forecasts and analyses to support both short-term and long-term strategic planning efforts.

Performance Analysis:

• Monitor and analyse key financial and operational performance metrics, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare variance analyses and communicate insights and recommendations to company leadership.

Commercial Support and Pricing:

• Work closely with commercial teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamics.
• Conduct customer segmentation and pricing analyses to optimise revenue and profitability.

Operational and Revenue Metrics Reporting:

• Establish and maintain robust reporting frameworks for operational performance and revenue metrics.
• Prepare regular, insightful reports for the board and internal stakeholders to provide a clear understanding of the company's operational and financial performance.

Data-driven Decision Support:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse relevant data, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support key business initiatives and investments.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are preferred. 
• Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and experience with financial planning software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and providing financial support for business decision-making.
• Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and the ability to apply them in a business context.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other data analysis tools.
