ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to an entrepreneurial and highly influential Sales & Pricing Manager as well as working closely with the CFO, this Commercial Analyst is a highly visible and crucial role. The purpose of the role is to assist the Sales & Pricing Manager by building a best-of-breed Commercial Finance and pricing function thus enabling commercially responsible decision making. In this highly autonomous and empowering role you will support the core pricing function. This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ through the building of strong foundations supported by a solid pricing process and commercial framework.
  
As the Commercial Analyst, you will support the Sales & Pricing Manager's remit in ultimate accountability for end to end commercial pricing management across the company. Critical to the role will be developing a 'Vision' for superior service in finance. This will involve driving automation and creating efficiencies in finance processes. The key success factor will be your ability to business partner with the Commercial Manager, CFO, Sales and leadership team through the development of performance targets and delivery of business results.
  
This role not only requires an excellent technical and analytical mind but also someone that can think outside of the box and not be afraid to challenge the status quo.
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to a high performing Sales & Pricing Manager and working closely with the leadership team, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Business partner the leadership team to identify opportunities to increase profitability, competitor advantage, shareholder value and business growth;
  • Build meaningful relationships to deliver beneficial commercial outcomes to the business, teams and customers;
  • Support the commercial pricing function including insightful and timely dashboard reporting and modelling;
  • Drive business initiatives across pricing, supplier income and rebates, brand penetration, margin improvement and price & mix analysis;
  • Revenue and commercial performance reporting;
  • Take ownership, prepare, and drive the forecasting and budget process;
  • Act as a critical data insights lead to the leadership team who will seek your support and guidance on preparing internal reports for key business decision making;
  • Act as a key advisor for the business to develop analytical and reporting tools as well as promote and drive adoption of BI solutions;
  • Develop simple and meaningful sales reports and dashboards using Excel & PowerBI to give business leaders visibility of sales and manufacturing performance.
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate has experience working within pricing and is confident engaging in discussions with all levels of an organisation from leadership level through to field staff. You may have experience working as a Management Accountant or Analyst. You have a demonstrated track record in driving performance and accountability across a variety of businesses. You possess an advanced level of MS Excel. Exposure to Power BI/Tableau is also preferred however your ability to negotiate and discuss reporting/commercial matters with stakeholders whilst having the technical ability to translate, design and provide solutions that fosters decision support is essential for success in this role.
  
Overall, you will have a track record of adding value through an absolute understanding of key business drivers; the capacity to generate insights; and the ability to communicate effectively to drive change.

  • Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of key stakeholders;
  • Pro-active and customer focused mind set;
  • Superior stakeholder management, including advanced influencing and negotiation skills.
