Our client is a forward-thinking wholesale distribution business with a global footprint, committed to transforming the sector through innovation and efficiency. They are seeking a dynamic Commercial Finance Manager who will play a crucial part in shaping their inventory and Stock Management strategies, optimizing product portfolio, and supporting various functions such as Buying, Demand Planning, and Digital Marketing. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving profitability and efficiency across their wholesale and retail channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory and Stock Management: Develop and implement strategies to optimise inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock turnover and minimising carrying costs.
- Portfolio and Range Planning/Optimization: Analyse market trends and customer preferences to optimize the product portfolio, driving sales and profitability.
- Support for Buying Team: Collaborate with the Buying team to forecast demand accurately, ensuring optimal stock levels & availability of products.
- Supplier Agreement Negotiation: Negotiate supplier agreements to secure favourable terms and pricing, driving cost savings and enhancing supplier relationships.
- Rebate Analysis: Analyse rebate programs to maximize benefits and ensure compliance with supplier agreements.
- Promotional Effectiveness: Evaluate the effectiveness of promotional activities, providing insights to enhance marketing strategies and drive sales.
- Knowledge of S&OP Process: Utilize your expertise in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to align cross-functional teams and optimize inventory and production planning processes.
- Exposure to FMCG/Stock-Based Distribution: Leverage your experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or stock-based distribution to drive innovation and best practices within the organization.
- Supporting Digital Marketing Function: Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team to integrate financial insights into marketing strategies, driving targeted campaigns and maximising ROI.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in Commercial Finance, inventory management, and stock-based distribution, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven track record of building effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other financial software tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
