The Location

You can opt for a FIFO 14/7 roster, working directly on the project, or choose to be based in the charming Cooma community working a 5/2 roster from the main Snowy Hydro Limited Office. Relocation support is available for those considering a move.
The Role
As the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership position overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of the Snowy 2.0 shallow works transmission project. Your responsibilities will include managing contractual relationships, ensuring adherence to project agreements, and strategically handling contract claims, variations and negotiations.
Responsibilities include:
Strategic Contract Management - developing and implementing strategies for the effective management of the transmission project (shallow works).
Documentation and Compliance - ensuring accurate and comprehensive records of all correspondence, notices, claims and variations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiation - serving as a primary point of contact for negotiations with the contractor regarding claims and variations. Building and maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders, project teams and external partners.
Reporting and Analysis - accurate monitoring and reporting on the status of claims and variations, including impact on project scope, budget and timeline.
Compliance and Risk Management - ensuring all claims and variations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement and Reporting - continuously review and improve processes.
You'll Bring To The Team:
A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law or a related field. You'll demonstrate strong experience in senior contracts administration or management, with a proven track record in managing claims and variations in large-scale construction or engineering projects. This position requires solid commercial acumen, analytical capabilities and expert knowledge of EPC contracts and legal compliance. Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering strong relationships both within and outside the organisation.
