The Financial Analyst role is a key role here at Go-To. Reporting to the CEO, you will work autonomously to provide financial insight to the Go-To team. You will support the business growth plans to disrupt and delight the market through the development and execution of sound financial management principles and practices that will support the achievement of the Go-To strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage and build the annual budget and quarterly forecasts working with senior management to review, analyse and manage spend.
- Own the monthly management reporting process for the relevant business teams providing insights and analysis vs the forecast, articulating key drivers of capex and opex spend including marketing CAC calculations. Business Teams include Research & Development, Logistics and Sales & Marketing Teams.
- Responsible for month-end management reporting process, including month end accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L review, cash flow reporting and building the board packs.
- Support the marketing team with commercial analysis of business cases, promotions, sales analysis and active customers analysis.
- Partnering with the Sales Team to provide accurate wholesale sales and margin analysis and projections.
- Support senior management with regular and ad hoc requests from the Board of Directors.
- Partnering with the Research & Development team to provide analysis on margins, product launches and R&D grants.
- Partnering with the Production team to support demand planning and inventory management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify and enhance core finance processes and reporting, including month end, budgeting and forecasting.
- Own the rolling cash flow forecasting process.
- Manage the bank reporting requirements alongside external advisors.
- Provide sales analysis (sales channel, region, product mix) to the business as and when required.
- Ad hoc project work or system enhancement as required e.g. supporting the development of standardised BI reports.
- Maintain the business’ adherence to internal control policies.
- Manage the external accounts team, review their postings and oversee and support the AR/AP function.
- Liaise with our external advisors for tax and compliance.
- Provide support to the business for Carbon Offset and Sustainability requirements.
- Continuous review and research on updated accounting principles and Skincare industry specific standards and implement where required.
- CPA or CA
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience or 3 years in a Commercial Finance retail role
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting and the month-end/year end close process
- Experience in a hands-on small team desirable
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Demonstrated high level of communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong Commercial focus - naturally curious, and data driven in your approach to solving issues
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- A love of working autonomously
