The opportunity
The Commercial Manager role within the Australia Wealth Management (AWM) and Bank Sourcing team is responsible for managing and delivering commercial, contractual, legal and financial outcomes across the Wealth Management (AWM) and AMP Bank businesses and may include delivery of strategic projects, ensuring that AMP achieves maximum leverage (price and service delivery / quality) from vendor arrangements.
Working closely with senior people and SMEs across the organisation this role will deliver great outcomes that achieve maximum value (price and service delivery) from projects, partners and vendor arrangements.
For this role we are looking for someone that can develop and manage multiple partners, vendors and acquisition practices and ensure compliance with relevant AMP policies and regulatory requirements.
You will facilitate commercial and contract analysis as well as provide commercial advice / direction, risk analysis and assist with dispute resolution to internal stakeholders relating to vendors and contract management.
How you will make an impact
Implement and manage appropriate strategies and processes to ensure AMP’s relationships with key partners and vendors deliver competitive solutions, which enable AMP to meet its business objectives.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities to support and implement programs which will significantly reduce the operating and capital expenditure of AMP.
Identify and drive total cost of ownership and demand management initiatives to deliver annualised savings to specific targets set annually to align with business needs
Contribute to and develop commercial strategies relating to sourcing from external vendors, which will meet AMP commercial and business objectives, and where assigned manage and lead the implementation of these strategies as appropriate.
Assist in the development of management plans for a particular partner or vendor that supports AMP’s strategies, complies with AMP’s outsourcing obligations, and provides an effective platform for ongoing management.
What you will bring to the role
Ideally at least 3 years in a commercial environment
Experience in negotiating and managing vendor relationships, contracts and complex commercial models.
Demonstrated capability in developing and managing effective relationships with external partners and internal stakeholder.
Demonstrated knowledge of contract law for contract interpretation and drafting purposes
To be successful in this role you easily adopt your communication style to a wide variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. You have the ability to develop, interpret and manage complex high value contracts and technology relationships. As well as your ability in the management of vendors you also assess the capability of suppliers and commercial proposals.
