About the Opportunity

Applications are sought for the position of Commissioner for Consumer and Business Services, South Australia.

The role has responsibility for the overall management of the Consumer and Business Services (CBS) business unit within the Attorney-General’s Department (AGD).

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Commissioner exercises relevant legislative powers and responsibilities attached to several statutory offices, including:

• Commissioner for Consumer Affairs
• Liquor and Gambling Commissioner
• Commissioner for Prices
• Commissioner for Corporate Affairs

The Commissioner will have a broad skillset, including:

• Demonstrated experience in customer service delivery and improvement in a large and complex organisation.
• High-level experience in effectively leading, motivating and supporting diverse teams while encouraging collaboration and developing a constructive culture.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage significant business and organisational change in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and ability to operate within a regulatory environment.

About the Business

The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. Special Conditions for Employment

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
