- Join us as a Commissioning Manager - Electrification Service NSW for the Electrification Business area where you will be ensuring the service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. You will support with executing technical support, acts as a product specialist, and solve problems in our area of expertise. You will communicate both with the customer and ABB sales and operational teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities are realised for service growth.
- This position reports to our Electrification Service – Project Operations Manager and based in Moorebank, Australia.
- Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in all service categories (installation and commissioning; maintenance; repairs; engineering and consulting; advanced services; extensions, upgrades, and retrofits; end-of-life services, replacements)
- Investigating customer needs through professional consulting. Providing technical consulting on service solutions to management and customers.
- Determining effective service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively. Managing customer relationships and maintaining regular contact with key customers
- Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth. Conducting specialist support and advisory service for the Sales team
- Coordinating and executing specialist service projects in relevant areas internally and externally (e.g., create milestones, project plan, cost supervision, action steps, project reviews, and project supervision) including all commercials
- Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed
- Providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service. Planning activities in a timely and cost-effective way and monitors the performance
- Working with account teams to identify opportunities in the installed base. Working to reduce cost and improves the quality of delivery of service and projects. Determining suggestions for product and quality improvement proactively and communicates them further in the ABB organization
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 5 years or more experience in relevant field
- Testing, Commissioning and Design experience of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchboards in line with IEC/AS/NZS Standards (both ABB and non-ABB assets), including protection relays of various makes and models
- Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools. CAD and EPLAN knowledge and experience is an added advantage
- Positive, confident and adaptive to a dynamic team, whilst open to constructive feedback and willingness to change behavioral practices and/or suggest improvements to business / tools and process gaps
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn and implement new technologies
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills. Strong Microsoft Office Software knowledge and experience
