THE ROLE:
The EL1 Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager plays a critical role in orchestrating a Stakeholder Engagement strategy across industry/business sectors, government agencies, and international partners. This ensures stakeholders remain well-informed, supportive, and actively contribute their views and inputs, which are vital to the reforms’ success. Effective Stakeholder Engagement in the STS Unit will require the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to work closely with other agency engagement functions and coordinate joined-up and effective messaging and engagement with stakeholders.
The Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager leads the strategic development and implementation of Stakeholder Engagement and communication plans that foster transparent and effective communication, facilitating stakeholder awareness and support, and leveraging their insights to drive the STS reform initiatives forward.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough analyses to identify key stakeholders affected by or interested in the STS reform and devising targeted engagement strategies. This involves establishing a relationship manager model and leveraging engagement forums to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Exceptional client relationship management skills are required to coordinate and manage stakeholder interactions, including the development of key messages and copy, meeting materials and presentations, secretariat support, and deployment of research tools to gather insights and feedback.
Furthermore, the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager oversees multiple workstreams related to Stakeholder Engagement, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and aligned with the STS reform’s strategic goals. Regular reporting to senior executives on engagement activities and progress is a critical function of this role, necessitating strong organisational and communication skills. This position is instrumental in building and maintaining robust stakeholder relationships, essential for the successful implementation and adoption of the STS reform initiatives.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Lead the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive Stakeholder Engagement and communication plans, ensuring all activities are aligned with the Simplified Trade System (STS) reforms strategic goals. This includes fostering transparent and effective communication channels that enhance stakeholder awareness, support, and active contribution to the reform.
• Conduct thorough analyses to identify and map key stakeholders across industry/business sectors, government agencies, and international partners. Devise and execute targeted engagement strategies that address the diverse needs and interests of these stakeholders, ensuring their views and inputs are effectively integrated into the STS reform process.
• Establish and manage a relationship manager model and leverage engagement forums, facilitating regular and constructive dialogue between the STS reform team and its stakeholders. This includes coordinating the development of key messages and meeting materials, secretariat support, and using research tools to gather valuable stakeholder insights and feedback.
• Oversee multiple workstreams related to Stakeholder Engagement, ensuring efficient task execution and alignment with the STS reform’s strategic objectives. Regularly report to senior executives on engagement activities, progress, and outcomes, employing strong organisational and communication skills to maintain clear and consistent updates.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, employing exceptional client relationship management skills to navigate complex interactions and negotiations. Ensure that Stakeholder Engagement efforts contribute positively to the successful implementation and adoption of the STS reform initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to achieving shared goals.
