As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in planning and managing highly effective public relations campaigns and elevating the profile and reputation of Museums Victoria's experts, activities, exhibitions, and events.

As the Public Relations and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication campaigns that enhance Museums Victoria's profile, boost visitation, and strengthen our reputation among diverse stakeholder groups. This includes local, state, national, and international media, government bodies, and other relevant partners.
What You'll Do:
- Devise and implement innovative communication strategies and campaigns for exhibitions, programs, and activities across all Museums Victoria campuses.
- Elevate the public profile of key staff through well-planned communications initiatives.
- Identify and create media opportunities to amplify Museums Victoria's key themes and messages.
- Coordinate media outreach activities, including writing releases, handling inquiries, and organizing events.
- Develop crisis management messages, briefing notes, and FAQs for internal and external use.
- Craft speeches and briefing notes for the executive team.
- Build strategic relationships with key media, government, and external partners.
- Supervise and support the communications team in monitoring and reporting on media coverage.
- Contribute to project business cases, manage media campaign budgets, and ensure financial compliance.
- Execute and manage media calls and external stakeholder events in collaboration with the events team.
- Highly experienced in a stakeholder communication and public relations.

- An accomplished communicator with a demonstrated history in stakeholder Communications and public relations, seamlessly navigating various professional landscapes.

- Effectively communicating up and down reporting lines is second nature to you, reflecting your adeptness in fostering collaborative relationships at all levels.

- You bring valuable experience in event, budget, and PRoject management, demonstrating a capability to execute tasks with precision and efficiency.
- Your excellent relationship-building skills extend to both internal and external stakeholders, forming strong connections that contribute to overall success.
- You possess a qualification in communications, public relations, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and you bring a strong theoretical foundation to your practical experience.

This is a full time 12-month fixed term position. The salary on offer is $96,477 (pro rata) + 11% superannuation.
