The Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a range of communications and marketing-related activity that raises the profile of Orygen Digital and aligns with Orygen’s overall communications and marketing approach.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Adviser, Orygen Digital you will:
- Create engaging, sensitive and accurate online and offline content for all of Orygen Digital’s audiences and drive content development that grows and sustains an engaged, active and diverse online community.
- Assist in the development of communications, and communication plans, for external and internal Orygen events and projects.
- Support the development and dissemination of media releases, opinion pieces, speeches, comment/analysis pieces and other communications materials to promote Orygen Digital’s research, clinical work, policy papers, knowledge translation, events and fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with young people regularly in co-design opportunities. This could include briefing the desired projects, workshopping their ideas and then co-production with young people to bring their ideas to life.
You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
- A tertiary qualification in journalism, communications or public relations or a background in research promotion or related area.
- Previous experience as a Communications Coordinator or similar role.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely and appropriately for specific audience groups.
- Ability to translate complex scientific findings and research into lay language.
- Ability to work with and support young people to share their stories in ways that empower them and advance organisational goals.
- Salary between $80,000 - $85,000 pro rata commensurate with skills and experience + 11% super + NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 + $2,600 meals and entertainment card.

This is a part to full time (0.6-1.0 FTE) position for 12 months.
