About the Opportunity
The Team Lead, Communications & Government Relations (C&GR) is responsible to the National Communications Manager for supporting the execution of ASC's Communications Strategy and in particular, its WA based activities.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of ASC's WA based external C&GR Team members and overseeing the external outputs of the team, in order to meet the organisation's external communications and Government Relations obligations, and to protect and enhance ASC's brand and reputation.
Responsibilities
The Team Lead, Communications & Government Relations is responsible for managing their team's communications outputs, incorporating the following areas of responsibility:

  • Brand and reputation - ensuring that all external communication products (produced by the team and by other teams at ASC) meet brand guidelines and uphold ASC's reputation in the market.
  • Corporate documentation - eg. contribute to producing the Annual Report, Corporate Plan, presentation templates.
  • Traditional media - eg. producing media releases, 'op ed' articles, media liaison, leveraging earned media opportunities.
  • Content production - eg. producing video, long-form written content.
  • Website - eg. routine website maintenance, ongoing content production, search engine optimisation (SEO)
  • Social media - eg. publishing to LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram; content calendar management; social media community management and moderation.
  • Digital paid media - Paid search (SEM) and social media marketing (SMM).
  • Working with the Graphic Designer to develop collateral such as brochures, flyers, posters.
  • Delivering events - eg. trade shows.
  • Site visits - eg. VIP delegations, large group visits.
  • Sponsorships and partnerships - engagement, assessment of requests, writing business cases, ongoing management.
About you
As an exemplary candidate, you will leverage a wealth of 5+ years' experience in Corporate Communications, Media, or as a Media Advisor. You will demonstrate a commendable track record in delivering premium communication products and showcasing adeptness in both traditional, earned and digital social media strategies.
You will bring with you an established network of media contacts, coupled with a nuanced understanding of governmental and political landscapes.
Your professional profile will be characterised by impeccable time management, meticulous attention to detail, and exemplary written and verbal communication skills. An added asset is your proven capacity to lead and manage teams, ideally with prior experience in a leadership role.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
