Corporate Affairs is a valued partner for our leaders and plays a key role in supporting them to deliver our strategy. Corporate Affairs is responsible for strengthening and protecting the Group’s brand and reputation as well as the development and delivery of a company-wide, strategic communications plan.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the Communications Manager – Media and External Relations will support Corporate Affairs and senior leadership teams to communicate the Scentre Group story. This role is for someone that has had experience in an external affairs role and is looking to grow their capability and career in a supportive, dynamic environment.
Your opportunity
You will contribute to the continued growth of our business by:
- Supporting the development and execution of an integrated communications strategy for the business. Deliverables include proactive internal, Media and stakeholder communications aligned to the Group’s corporate calendar and business priorities.
- Supporting the Group’s day-to-day ‘press office’ function, working alongside colleagues as the primary points of contact for the media, including coordinating media inquiries in line with our media policy.
- Play a key role in preparing campaigns for media coverage and External reach, and prepare senior leaders for interviews or external engagements.
- Contributing to the Group’s issues and crisis communications readiness.
- Supporting management of the Group’s corporate website.
- Co-ordinating Group media monitoring, reporting and analytics.
- Supporting key external stakeholder communications for the Group.

You will be a media, issues and External Relations practitioner with some corporate experience, looking for your next opportunity to grow.
You will have the confidence and capability to engage with senior leaders, communicate messages succinctly and understand the intersection between our business strategy and the external and issues environment.
You will have/be:
- Corporate Communications/External Affairs experience in large organisation(s). Experience with ASX companies, highly valued.
- Experience developing and executing effective external communications strategies.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing external/media issues.
- Highly collaborative with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- The ability to consult and advise broader areas of the business on communications matters, processes and policies.
- Digital content strategy and management experience (highly valued).
