Community Compliance Team Leader

Make an impact in regional Victoria working with a local council, approximately 45 minutes north west of Bendigo. You will oversee daily operations and ensure compliance within the Community Compliance sector, focusing on local laws, planning schemes, domestic animal regulations, school crossings, and addressing litter and noise issues under the Environment Protection Act. You will play a crucial role in upholding community standards and regulatory adherence.
This is a permanent ongoing role - Band 6 - $87,987 to $95,316 + super
What you will do

• direct and support Council’s compliance staff in their duties
• coordinate and generally administer Council’s infringement notice system, including liaison with Fines Victoria and other statutory authorities in the penalty infringement notice process
• administer Council’s response to community enquiries regarding animal management
• coordinate a routine inspection, identification and enforcement program of dangerous or unsightly properties throughout the Shire in consultation with the Manager
• develop and implement programs for improving community education and awareness on regulatory functions and requirements

What you will have

• Ability to lead an operational team across a range of compliance functions
• Knowledge or previous exposure to local government planning schemes
• experience in a statutory compliance area and/or permit assessment and approval processes
• experience in coordinating, supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
