Team Leader Local Laws - Traffic & CompliancePermanent Full TimeLocation: MorwellSalary Range: $91,663.12 - $99,412.18 plus $11% SuperannuationDepartment: Safe CommunitiesDo you want to make an IMPACT?About the roleAs the Team leader Local Laws -Traffic & Compliance, you will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of residential amenity, community safety and environmental standards within the municipality through the enforcement of legislative controls and council policies relating to municipal law enforcement.You will provide advice and assistance to members of the Latrobe City community in regard to policies and legislation governing he functions of the municipal laws and foster a cooperative relationship using education, negotiation and consultation to resolve problems.You will also lead the operations of both the Traffic and Compliance team and School Crossing Supervision program including providing leadership, support and guidance as well as corporate monitoring and reporting.About YouFor this role we are seeking someone who has experience working in an enforcement/compliance environment with the ability to correctly interpret and enforce relevant legislation and policies. You will have ability to communicate effectively and provide quality customer service and demonstrated ability in effectively dealing with conflict or stressful situations.You will have:Post-secondary training to Certificate IV in Civic Compliance or equivalent and/or relevant experience in law enforcement.Proven ability to conduct investigations, instigate appropriate enforcement action and, where necessary, conduct interviews and prepare briefs of evidence and present evidence in court of law.Ability to understand Court procedures and give evidence regarding a prosecution for offences in the Magistrates Court and at VCAT or both.Ability to effectively communicate with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.Ability to contribute to a positive team culture in a high pressure environmentA current Victorian driver’s license.Successful applicants are required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.Go Further at Latrobe City CouncilA career with us begins with a desire to empower and make positive change within our Latrobe City Community.
