About the Role
The Community Engagement Manager play’s a lead role within the community team, overseeing a range of community programs that empower inclusion, support healthy lifestyles, foster football connections, and contribute to the community. This role will drive key outcomes of the clubs community framework to ‘grow greatness, at home or far away’.
Responsibilities
- Engage with the community, stakeholders, partners and foster relationships to drive impactful outcomes for club and community.
- Build strong internal club relationships to unlock excellence for the club and community and progress projects.
- Grow existing initiatives and relationships, while creating new and innovative ones that reflect the current environment.
- Play a lead support role to the Head of Community that drives a positive culture within the community team and club by managing multiple staff
- In partnership with AFL Victoria, AFL Barwon and AFL Western District design, develop, deliver, evaluate and foster football connections to support game development initiatives that grow the game.
- Manage the AFL & AFLW appearance program working closely with key football department staff to ensure best outcomes for the club and AFL & AFLW players in line with personal development plans and CBA
- Report on Club’s ASA usage and appearances, while providing strong leadership to capture social impact and report to Board, Executive team, community stakeholders and Foundation donors.
About You

- Ability to build strong rapport quickly
- Excellent external networks and stakeholder relationships
- Sports Management or Management degree
- A minimum 5 years work experience with staff management experience
- A connection with and detailed knowledge of the Barwon and South-West community
- AFL industry or sport industry experience desirable
