Community Engagement Manager
NES Fircroft is supporting a global wind turbine manufacturer in sourcing a Community Engagement Manager to join their team in Victoria.
Full-time, Permanent
Office is based in Melbourne - must be flexible to travel to site when required (travel costs are covered)
Salary: $120-160,000 - negotiable depending on experience
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Community Engagement Manger will provide Community Engagement and stakeholder management services. The role will support the Project Team and management on matters relating to Community and Stakeholder Engagement.
The purpose of the role is to:
Support the wider team in the implementation of community and stakeholder engagement requirements across a portfolio of wind and solar projects.
To competently and positively represent to local communities and stakeholders, through written, phone and in-person communications.
Enhance the positive reputation as a wind farm developer by providing information and liaising with the local communities.
To assist in establishing and maintaining an acceptable social license to operate projects and reduce the risk of community dissatisfaction.
Support Communications Manager by providing project information for corporate communications activities such as political engagements, press releases and branding activities.
Responsibilities
Produce Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plans for projects in development
Frequently visit communities surrounding projects, understand issues to be addressed and form or modify engagement actions that position projects as positive and long lasting contributors to communities.
Assist in the preparation, production and release of public information, including: newsletters, construction updates, presentation materials, media releases, website updates, and other relevant briefing materials as required.
Identify and implement improvements in Community Engagement techniques
Experience and Requirements
Tertiary qualification with a minimum of two years of experience in Community Engagement, community relations, stakeholder management in the renewable energy or relevant other industry.
Valid driving licence.
Experience of implementing Community Engagement strategies.
Experience of liaising with local communities and a wide variety of stakeholders.
Knowledge of effective Community Engagement principles and techniques for rural communities.
Knowledge of the challenges and opportunities involved in delivering wind and solar projects.
Experience at dealing with government stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to community relations. Competent computer use, including use of Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Travel to project sites may be required.
