About the Role
Our client are seeking a Community & Engagement Manager to produce high quality, detailed project communication & engagement material. The role will work with various internal and external stakeholders during the full life cycle of major renewable energy projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Managing and developing detailed and high-quality project communication and engagement plans and materials.
- Providing support to lead and co-develop project specific community investment plans (coordination of internal and external parties)
- Interfacing with internal business units to ensure alignment across external messaging to stakeholders, landowners, and the community in general
- Provide authoritative and strategic advice on project issues to Business Area Leaders and Managing Director
- Developing and managing relationships with key Federal, State and Local government agencies and departments.
- Where required, develop relationships with key project stakeholders and community members including, but not limited to host landowners and neighbours
- Proactively managing opportunities, issues, and risks across a range of projects in order to build understanding and support for projects whilst maintaining relationships with government agencies, stakeholder groups, local councils and the community
- Lead and participate in the stakeholder analysis (ie Social Impact Assessment) for sites in development, prospecting, due diligence and delivery phases.
- Oversee and manage the development of relevant community facing material such as newsletters, information bulletins, advertisements, and website
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations and community consultation work.
- Experience in Wind Farm projects is essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as arts, communication, public relations, or relevant experience.
- Proven team leadership skills and experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills with a professional approach to community relations.
- Knowledge of principles for effective public participation, stakeholder relations and Community Engagement.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in preparing stakeholder analyses, consultation plans, communications materials and managing community relationships and expectations.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in developing and delivering community relations programs and community benefits sharing programs
- Understanding of regulatory planning and environmental processes in relation to infrastructure projects.
- Experience negotiating with landowners and developing landowner agreements.
