Program Overview
Our safe Night Out program aims to identify vulnerable people and potential safety issues, with the aim to assist with the dispersal of people from drinking precincts to achieve a reduction in alcohol-related violence while supporting vulnerable people during peak times. The service operates Friday and Saturday nights between the hours of 11:00pm - 3:30am, providing intoxicated and vulnerable individuals with; a safe place to rest and recover, water and first aid if required, referrals to other services such a Queensland Ambulance Service, Queensland Police, Hospitals, Child Safety and sexual assault services and precinct information such as where to find toilets and taxi ranks.
To Be Successful You Will Need
- Ability to maintain accurate records of client interactions and service provision.
- Ability to work night shifts.
- A high level of commitment to the values of Anglicare North Queensland.
- Ability to handle difficult situations.
- Prior experience working with people under the influence of alcohol and other drugs will be highly regarded.
- Experience providing first aid will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities will be highly regarded.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds will be highly regarded.
Compliance
- A current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
- Blue Card (Working with children card)
- A current national Police Check (within the last 3 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certifications
