VMCH is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation, providing services including affordable housing, residential aged care, retirement living, community and disability services and specialist education to 7,600 people across Victoria. We operate in over 50 locations, have 2,600+ employees and over 600 volunteers maintaining our 24/7 service to vulnerable people across Victoria.
About you
We are looking for a Community Support Assistant to join our Homecare team. You will be responsible for providing high quality and person-centred care and support to our residents in VMCH retirement community ‘Star of the Sea’ in sunny Torquay. You will assist them with daily living activities, such as personal care, domestic tasks, and social and recreational activities. You will also promote their health and wellbeing, respect their choices and preferences, and foster positive relationships with them and their families. What you’ll need to succeed:
- Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2) and CPR
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Home and Community Care or equivalent
- Current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in providing personal care, domestic assistance, and social support to older people in a community setting
