Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Community Support Officer to join the team, benefits include:

OBJECTIVE OF THIS ROLE
This position is to provide administrative assistance to the Director Community Services & Economic Development and assist the team with the provision of community projects and events. The Community Support Officer will carry out the provisions of a grants officer, which will require reviewing of associated grants applications, collating relevant data for council to review in council meetings and correspondence with grant applicants regarding progress and outcomes of their grant. CSO will also be responsible for following up grant acquittals and submitting acquittal outcomes to council for review. This position is also responsible for collating the entire Community Services and Economic Development Department monthly Council report for the Director to review and submit to Monthly Council meetings.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Well-developed computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Collate monthly Council reports for Community Department
- Support the Director in streamlining and communicating processes, upholding strict confidentiality and professionalism across highly sensitive information.
- Assist in the coordination and quality assurance of written material.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE
- Assist the Director to carry out planning for particular projects and business activities;
- Administration of Council’s Community Grants programs.
- Provide assistance when required with events, community programs to support high level customer outcomes for the community;
- Provide administrative support for the completion of day to day work as directed including word processing, telephone calls, collate and review reports, scheduling meetings, photocopying, mail outs, file movement and prompt, professional and accurate typing of correspondence on behalf of the Director;
- Ability to be flexible and willing to assist with all aspects of the Community Services & Economic Development team;
- Ensure flexibility to work outside of normal business hours (including weekends) where required to assist with the delivery of community events.

- Ability to communicate effectively (Oral and written skill)
- A sound knowledge of the need to work safely, including WH&S and good environmental awareness
- Ability to work and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of Local Government and ability to work effectively with community groups and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCES REQUIRED
Ability to obtain current Police Clearance.
Hold and maintain an unrestricted C class driver’s licence
