Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation based in Carlisle. Our vibrant Centre runs community activities, provides care to people living in their own homes, independent living retirement village and social housing units. We are dedicated to assisting seniors and people with disabilities to continue to live independently and with dignity within their community.
About the role
We are seeking part-time Community Support Workers to join our home support services team. The primary duties will include, but may not be limited to: domestic assistance, social support, personal care, meal preparation, medicine prompts, and to accompany clients to banking, medical and social appointments as outlined in support plans. You will also be required to monitor client support plans to ensure that services remain relevant and maintain accurate documentation.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support Community Care or Disability Services;
- Reliability and flexible, able to work at least 15 hours per week;
- A current WA drivers licence;
- A licensed, reliable vehicle (mileage payable);
- National Police Certificate or ability to obtain one;
- A current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
You will also need good organisational and time management skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and be able to write informative client progress notes. You will be able to work both with limited supervision and as part of a team. A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements as they relate to this position will be required.
